Though I'm not a "reader"...

So honestly - I wouldn't call myself a reader. But after looking through some other blogs, taking recommendations and getting an encyclopedia of information from Mary - I have started collecting pregnancy books - so that I can hopefully educate myself on what's in store!

So far I have: Belly Laughs, Baby Wise, The Vaccine Book, Dr. Denmark Said It, What to Expect, The Birth Partner, a Day By Day Pregnancy Journal, The Publix Pregnancy to 5 year Book (FREE!), The Complete Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth and one more by Ina May Gaskins...

I bought most of these through ebay and amazon using paypal money that I made from selling other stuff! I just decided that if I read as much as possible then we will be able to filter through all the advice, opinions, and other things we hear - and decide what's the best fit for our family! It will be a miracle if I make it through these books - but we shall see!

Other exciting news - Aaron comes home tonight from a 5-day trip to San Antonio, TX. I am SOOO excited to see him - we sure have been lonely this week without him!

tagged...

I was tagged by by friend Jill to participate in this fun activity called a meme (pronounced "meem" - Ashley looked it up on dictionary.com). You are supposed to explain the 5th picture in the 5th folder on my computer and then tag 5 people to do the same. So here goes...This is a picture of my friend Peyton from work. I took this picture while we were painting "Believe" at Sips-n-Strokes in Birmingham. Here's a shot of what the finished products looked like...Great Job Ladies! To continue with tradition...I'll tag these 2 people (i think all my other blogging buddies have already been tagged:)

Wal-Mart Smiley...

My Friend from work - Tabitha - sent this pic to me - and I thought it was too good to not share! It makes me think of all the times that I should have taken pictures of the "sights" at Wal-Mart!!

Which one of these doesn't fit?

If you clook closely the answer can be found on the right side of the picture beside the pillow. It's the little 4lb. yorkie - LadyHollyGoLightly - otherwise known as Holly.
Her parents Eric and Stephanie are on a cruise this week - so she's taking a vacay at our house! Nala and Reagan don't mind her at all - she basically bosses them around. She eats about 5 kibbles of food per day and leaves what Aaron likes to call - "little tootsie rolls" in the yard. She came fully equipped with 5 chanegs of doggie clothes, scarves, hair bows and even some "freshen-up" spray. This dog is high-class! Oh - and she sleeps in the bed with us...she starts out right in the middle, then I move her to the side - then she somehow ends up back in the middle.
So here's to the queen of the couch!

If I may be political...

Though I should not be surprised one bit, I am. Surprised and saddened. The new president-elect, Barack Obama has made it very clear 2 things he will do once he's in office:

1. Release terrorists that our soldiers have fought hard to capture
2. Legalize the murder of more innocent Americans

Wow - it makes perfect sense right? unleash foreign terrorists and kill innocent american babies. I just hope and pray that there are some people in our government with backbones that will stand-up for our country and the innocent lives that are our future.

Then on second thought - maybe Obama could release the terrorists to live with his family and children - if he thinks they are so innocent, and maybe he could perform a partial birth abortion himself - since that's what he's so heavily advocating.

Sorry for the rant - but it makes me sick to think that this leader was actually chosen for this country.

Painting "Believe"

Last night I went to a little place called Sips-n-Strokes to paing a cross called believe. It's a great place to go with your girlfriends - even if you're like me and can't paint a flat wall! So you pick your painting online - and then go to the class that's offering that painting.

This was a blast to paint - but it didn't turn out quite like I expected. It was MUCH fun though! Here's Becky and Amy getting started with the background...Last class Amy had a painting 911 and was calling out to the helper the whole class because she thought she had ruined her painting. This time we told her that there would be no painting emergencies!!
Amy reserved 10 places - then only got the 2 of us to come - and somehow they didn't get the message that she was only coming with 2 people...so when we got there - they had reserved 10 places in her name...could have been tragic!
Then finally the finished product...we weren't absolutely in love with the ones that we painted...but after looking around, we decided that we wouldn't want to trade with anyone else in the room....

Much fun ladies!

Hap-Hap--Happy!

So we survived Christmas on the road - and so did the Camry...We loaded her up - to the brim...Nala and Reagan squeezed into the back - just enough room to use each other as pillows...
And we said bye-bye to our little Christmas house for a few days...
It was a sweet Christmas. There was a lot of talk about the new life that will be joining us next Christmas - along with a lot of reminicing about my grandfather who wasn't with us this Christmas. There was certainly a void there - he was such a bright spot in our lives - and Christmas was one of his favorite times. We carried on with his tradition of a Christmas Eve Breakfast - though the crowd was a little lighter - I know he would have been proud!

It was great to be with both of our families over the vacation...we acquired a few baby items, booties, onsies, a duck outfit and a book called Motherhood is not for sissies. it's hard to believe that next Christmas there will be a 4-month old to share it all with!

New Years was simple - Aaron's dad and family came in town and we grilled out - spent some time at Tannehill Park and celebrated New Years...through the TV. The only bummer about celebrating in Central Time Zone...is that there's no celebration...no big shows, concerts...we are like the time zone that got left-out. My Mom and grandmother came in town shortly after and spent this past weekend - which was so much fun. We did a little shopping - relaxing - and just enjoyed being in the same state!

Anyhow...the New Year is off to a great start. Aaron and I have started a book called the "Love Dare" it's been great so far...and we're only on day 3.

We are 9 weeks pregnant now...and counting. Still feeling great just fighting a little sleepiness every now and then...and some hungry spells. January 15th I go back to the doc...praying for a good report and good bloodwork!

Till next time!
