a day on the lake...

We had the opportunity to spend a day on the lake with our dear friend Holli a couple of weeks ago.  Her mom was kind enough to watch Marlee so we could adventure out for a while.  It was really a lot of fun, not crowded at all and the weather was just perfect!

Captain Zakeri was a very serious driver and his co-captain had plenty of snacks...for himself of course.
Here's the beauty queen herself - giving a lovely 2 thumbs up for the day.

we made a pit stop for lunch at a little restaurant called Skogies.
Unfortunately this is how we all felt after waiting nearly an HOUR for our food.
Don't you wish you could act like a kid sometimes?  Once we got our food - Holli and I noticed some visitors on our sandwiches in the form of GREEN FUZZY MOLD!
No worries though, they quickly prepared "new" sandwiches and later delivered us the bill in FULL.  I'll spare you the details of the rest of the story - just leave it at we didn't end up paying for our sandwiches.
Walker got to feed the fish some of our leftover lunch.
Fortunately, we are all still alive and I'm guessing the fish are too.

 self-portrait.

I love this picture of Walker and "Ha-yee"  Since he still can't say his "L's" Holli is a hard one for him:)

It was such a fun break from the norm with wonderful company!

Food, Family, Fun, Friends and Fevers...All on the Fourth

Here are a few picts to document our Yearly Family Reunion on the 4th of July!
There was seriously enough food to feed an army!  It was SO delicious!  Tons of different salads, casseroles, and LOTS of desserts.  I'm pretty sure Pinterest has helped to expand the menu a bit!
Here's Goo-Goo and Andoo.  Aren't they PRESH!  Or in their own words, totes-presh...
Yaddi and Papa Alan with Marlee Grace and Walker.  Aren't they such a cute couple!!  Walker WOULD NOT smile, so he looks "special" in this picture,
Here's Caleb with Rach and Andrew.  I'm surprised Caleb made it to the family reunion - seeing how he was shooting families of copperheads just hours earlier!
Walker once again - not looking at the camera!
Miss Marlee in her red white and blue
Family portrait.  It's hard to believe this time last year I was 6 months pregnant with Marlee!
Justin and Aaron - they are always this cool.
Shauna - lounging by the pool - the classiest girl that I know!

Marlee in her celebration dress!  Thank you $4.00 consignment!  You did not disappoint!
The day was HOT but so much fun!  On the way home we stopped by some friends to have dinner, Walker had a total meltdown, and we realized that he had a big ole' fever!  We quickly wrapped some plates and headed home.  He's been a little better today and the fever has gradually gone down.  Poor guy just had TOO much fun celebrating our independence!

My living quarters look EXACTLY like my pinterest boards

Just wanted to reassure you that my virtual life and my real life are totally aligned. I didn't want you to be jealous or envious of how neat and orderly our living quarters are so I thought I'd share a few photos snapped this evening.
