Ultrasound Video!

Here's a little video from the ultrasound today - you can hear the heartbeat at the beginning which is so sweet! It's hard to tell - but there are time when you can see the 4 chambers of the heart, the spine, face, eyes, nose, arms and legs...he's growing for sure and moving around so much!

I experienced the reason you aren't supposed to lay on your back - at this point in the pregnancy...because it makes you almost pass-out. Towards the end of the ultrasound I was feeling a bit queazy and hoping it would just go away, well - it got stronger and stronger so I asked if I could sit-up - all the while I break out into a full sweat and know I am on the verge of passing out. Well - with the help of Aaron, Emily, a cold glass of water, a fan, a garbage can just in case and finally laying on my left side - I was back to normal in no time! This little guy had apparently cut off the blood supply to my brain (which confirms that I have one) and almost made me pass-out! I felt perfectly fine afterwards - just a little drained:0) I guess this means i don't need to go on a walk tonight - I have done plenty of sweating for the day!

Have a great day!

This Momentary Marriage

Aaron told me about this new book by John Piper. You can access it online for free (it's totally legal and allowed!)
Just scroll to the bottom of the page and there's a download this PDF button where you can store it on your computer.
I read the intro and it was captivating. I haven't read the book yet - but it's John Piper - that speaks for itself!

Deal of the week and an O-So-Cute!

Deal of the week...Iced Tea Pot - $4.95 on the Bed Bath & Beyond Clearance rack. Emily has one - and she makes the best sweet tea with it...otherwise known as nectar at their house. So I decided for $4.95 that I needed one too. It was on the clearance rack because it was missing parts - the instruction maunal! I hate those anyways - so that was no biggie! And isn't this O-So-Cute? I would love to see my little man wearing this! I found it here.

Little Business Man- Funky Tie Onesie

If I would get my sewing machine serviced - I could probably make it myself...but it might not be nearly as cute!

Are any of you talented seamstresses? I want to sew on fun little projects - but I never know where to start - so I just look at the cool stuff that other people do!

Grow Tomatoes Grow

Since we don't really have enough yard for a real garden - with some neighborly help - I planted tomatoes in planter pots. 2 pots of Better Boys and one Topsy Turvy of Cherry Tomatoes! The marigolds are supposed to keep the bugs away without having to use chemical bug treatments...In just 2 weeks they have almost doubled in size! I can't wait for some vine ripe tomatoes this summer!
I used Papa's trick of stringing the plants up with panty hose...and since I don't wear them - I decided to put them to good use. He always said it helped deliver nitrogen to the plant. He always had beautiful tomatoes too!

One day I would love to have a non-urban veggie garden! One of my most favorite summer memories! But for this year I will just be growing tomatoes - and a child:) Have you done any planting this year?

Calligraphy does the trick!

This is Aaron - displaying his amazement over the Calligraphy that's hand-written on Peyton's wedding invite...I didn't know his eyes opened this wide! At least we know it doesn't take much! I think he's so cute!!

New House Guest

We have a new guest in the Zakeri Home. He hails from Disney World (or China)!!!
He's the newest addition to Baby (still nameless) Zakeri's room!
The bedding is just thrown in the bed...we haven't gotten his mattress yet, but I couldn't resist seeing how it all went together! I love it!

Aaron and I have a weekend home together (except for a little while on saturday) and we are so excited. It seems like it's been forever since we've home - and I have managed to finish all the un-fun house work before the weekend! HOORAY! I can't wait to enjoy this GREAT weather!

Do you have any exciting plans this weekend? What do you like to do when you have a rare-un-planned-weekend? I would love to know!!

Smiles

I forgot to mention...

Dana and I went shopping on Saturday morning. She was in desperate need of some spring and summer clothes...so...in 1.5 hours we raided the McDonough Ross and racked-up on $1,100 of clothes, shoes and purses for...

...only $380.00! She has 15-20 new outfits and just loves them! We had such a great time - and saved a ton-o-money! Even though it takes some digging - you can really get great deals at Ross!

Welcome Home...

Last weekend I got to spend time with these sweet babies...
Hayden
and Taylor...
They belong to Dana and Matthew. Dana and I have known each other since before we actually knew each other. (Our moms were preggo with us at the same time and were BFF's.) It was so great to get to spend time with Dana in real-life - instead of just on the phone. She's such a great mom - I took lots of notes while I was there!
Last night I left the dogs inside - while I went to visit Emily and when I got back home...this is what I was greeted with.
Heather, I think that our dogs have been talking...thanks a lot!
In other news - Emily pointed out last night that I am losing my belly button. Wow - that's great - since I can't even see my belly button. So I checked it out - and sure enough - part of my belly button is flattening out. Nice! I guess that comes with the deal huh?
Monday's the glucose test at the doc's and hopefully if I make it through that then Thursday I will be able to have another free ultrasound so that I can see this little guy again:)
Have a great week!
Love,
M
P.S. for all you smarty pants bloggers - my header's messed-up and when I try to upload a new pic - it's gigantic size and takes up the whole blog...any suggestions?

The Red Envelope Project

Today over 1.5 million red envelopes are supposed to arrive at the White House. I would love to know if anyone hears about any mass media coverage on this - because I haven't yet. Maybe they think that by "ignoring" it will go away.Thankful for Life!
