This afternoon while Walker was napping - left all the groceries in the floor, the laundry on the kitchen counter, changed a monster blow out diaper and then did something fun! I snapped a few pics of Miss Marlee.

According to my very accurate weigh myself, weigh myself with Marlee then do the math method, she weighs 16 lbs. now. She's a growing little girl and I'm trying to cherish every single day of her sweetness!

What happened to January?

I seriously don't know what happened to January...but here are a few of the highlights.

My grandmother treated us to Cavalia Odysseo. It was AWESOME. I didn't take any pictures of the show, but here's our lively bunch at the Varsity before the show started.

Next, we all caught a NASTY virus called Hand, Foot and Mouth. Walker got if first, from who knows where, then I caught it, Marlee caught it and Aaron followed soon after. I am still recovering from the blisters that covered my hands and feet. I'll spare you the pictures.

In the middle of the NASTY virus, we moved! Oh how wonderful that was. Thankfully we had lots of help to make the transition as smooth as possible. We live in Aaron's dad's basement - which is by far the nicest place I've ever lived! Marlee and Walker are sharing a room which has actually worked out great. I was so nervous but we haven't had any problems yet.

Marlee started eating baby food. I broke out the Baby Bullet and got to work. So far she's enjoyed sweet potatoes, avocado, oatmeal, zucchini, bananas, pears and apples. Hopefully she will be a good eater like her brother!

Here's a random picture of me and Aaron. We snuck outside and cuddled under a blanket while the kids napped. A RARE occasion or peace and quiet that we were able to enjoy!

Walker gets to play outside a lot more now. He rides his power wheels, feeds the chickens and is the master stick collector! He would probably stay outside all day if he could. He's a great big brother and is constantly loving on his little sister.

Marlee Grace remains the sweetest little girl on the block. She's really been a great baby all around. She loves her Mama and I love that about her. She takes good naps, gives sweet kisses and loves to chat!

These are the highlights. I won't go into details about the temper tantrums, time-outs and struggles that have come with moving, settling in and having a 2 year old and making lots of adjustments...because I'm sure you have enough low points of your own! So these are the highlights, hopefully I won't be such a blog stranger in February!

In January, our family will be moving to Gwinnett County as Aaron starts a new position at 12 Stone Church as a part of the Spiritual Formation Team. There's a lot of excitement and anticipation about this next season and new position. We will be moving from a church we love dearly, and people that we have built lasting relationships with, in a step of obedience to where He is calling us as a family.

After the New Year, we will be packing up the house, selling a lot of furnishings and decor as we consolidate and simplify for the move. Just wanted to share what's coming up and ask you to be in prayer with us as we make this transition in the coming weeks.

Marlee at 2.5 months

Marlee had her first doctor appointment yesterday (since she was 1 week) and she came out with a good report! She weighs 13lbs and is 24.5 inches "tall". She's in the 90th percent for height so far - but those silly percentages always change. She has a little thrush which we finally have medicine for but other than that, they said she's doing great.

She has had a few nights where she sleeps from 8pm-8am. Most nights she goes to bed at 8pm, nurses at 3am then wakes for the day at 8am. I figure anything is better than being up ALL night! So far she's been a great baby, smiling, cooing and really coming to life a lot more lately.

He's been a handful lately, I think the "new sibling syndrome" is finally kicking in along with being 2-years old. Lots of fits, being ugly and just acting out and talking out in general. I am hoping and praying that it won't last much longer - I might lose my mind if so! I'm trying to be more intentional with my time with him, and not worry so much about things like our ENTIRE mattress being covered in laundry! speaking of...

A Visit from the Dedge Family!

This weekend we were lucky enough to have some of our very best friends from Birmingham pay us a visit! Thankfully, they brought Marlee's future husband, Foster Dedge. We went shopping, had lunch at a great little local restaurant, shared baby tips and ideas and did lots of catching-up!

I'll be saving the following photos for there rehearsal dinner one day.

The Rock Ranch 2011

Yesterday we spent the day at The Rock Ranch with friends and family. We have never been to The Rock Ranch before so it was all new to us! There's SO much for the kids to do here, and it's fun for the "grown-ups" too. It's owned by Truett Cathy, which says it all!

Here's our bonfire site. We brought food for lunch and then roasted hot dogs and s'mores for dinner. It was SO nice having a fire to return to during the day. I LOVE the smell of a fire especially on a nice crisp day!

If you and your family ever get a chance to make it to The Rock Ranch, it's totally worth the trip. I think it's an affordable place to spend the day and supports a wonderful family business. There's a ton to do, it's super-clean and there's plenty of beautiful scenery. We had a great time and would love to make it a Fall Family Tradition!

Walker and I played outside earlier this week while Marlee napped. The weather has been SO mild, so we are soaking up as much as we can. It also helps him burn off some of that 2-year-old energy that he seems to have an abundance of!

We played his version of baseball, ran in circles in the back yard, then took a break for a mini photo shoot. He didn't last long, just long enough for these little shots. None of these photos have been edited - that's why I love them so much!

What a blessing you are to me, Walker Monroe!

It's hard to believe how fast he's growing and changing. Talking so much, making me laugh constantly, proving to be a wonderful big brother, showing compassion to others, pushing my buttons, and stealing my heart all the while.

He's been taking himself to the potty lately - he will come running through the house announcing that he's made a "big doo-doo and a yittle one too" His excitement isn't limited to the house - he also likes to announce his pottying in all public places as well, and ask others if they have "tee-tee in pants" I'm so proud of him for doing so well potty training, and so thankful to not have 2 in diapers!!

6th Anniversary St. Simons Island

This year in celebration of our 6th Anniversary we headed to St. Simons, GA. My dear college friend Rachael was getting married also so we were able to celebrate with friends!

It was a little cooler than we anticipated, but we had a lot of fun visiting the sites on Saturday.

Halloween 2011

For Halloween this year, or actually the day before Halloween, we headed up to the church for the Dunk-r-Treat Festival. I dressed Walker in his Angry Birds shirt and Marlee went as herself...a 4-week old bundle. Aaron's mom and Aunts met us at the church and they took care of Walker as he played games and ran around like a crazy kid. Here are a few pics just for memories!

That's a fitting title...because it was quite a day around here.

The morning started out a little rough. We all had a case of "bed-head" and the grouchies!! As the day went on things got better. We stayed in our pajamas until after lunch just because.

After lunch we headed to Publix for trick-or-treating...but we arrived 3 hours early! I decided to go ahead and tackle some grocery shopping since my friend Lanie Beth pulled in the same time I did and offered to cart Walker around in the Publix limo!

We survived. Marlee slept in the front carrier the whole trip which was a miracle since she screamed her lungs out the whole way to the store!

I managed to cook some delicious veggie lasagna for dinner, make a family run to Walmart, bathe miss Marlee and even make a DIY scarf that came from Pinterest.

Now it's time for bed...which consists of 3 or 4 two-and-a-half hour naps if I'm lucky!

Tomorrow is a new day, I think we are ready!!

This has been our first week "alone" and shockingly enough we have survived and managed to leave the house every day! We went visiting a new little friend named Maille, she's just a doll!

Walker has been playing like a wild man. I peeped into the play area and just had to look away. It looks like a tornado has blown through!!

He's also been hauling "crayrons" around in his big truck. Do they are also all over the house!!

We made it out for our first stroll. I have to say that I love our double stroller. It's easy to push and both kiddos seem happy in it!

And lastly some naked baby love. She's up to 11 pounds now. She looks bigger in this pic than in real life but she's growing like a little weed! We are in size 1 diapers and too long for most of her 0-3 month sleepers!

Unsolicited Diaper Bag Review!

So I searched forever for a new diaper bag. With Walker I had a discontinued Pottery Barn Kids backpack diaper bag that I LOVED! After 2 years it was looking a little shabby and the strap was coming off. Of course they don't sell OR make that bag anymore so I couldn't replace it.

I searched the Internet for backpacks because I love the convenience of a hands free bag. I found bags from $20-$200 but none of them were exactly what I needed...until...I stumbled upon a Fisher Price bag on Targets website for only $40! Here's what I love:

It's super comfortable!
And affordable!

Little Siblings

Just a picture post of these 2 little dolls. Walker doesn't pay Marlee a lot of attention but when he does he is sweet with her.
Baby girl sleeps like a champ during the day. She's getting better with her nights which is a huge relief. Anything is better than being up on-and-off from 12a-5a!! She's a great baby. Seems to be easier than little Walker was...but we shall see!
I love that she's all girly dressed in her pink and Walker is tossing an Angry Bird around the house making explosion sounds! We have been camping out at my moms. Who could turn down lots of help from the greatest family around!
Walker has been saying the funniest things lately and praying the sweetest prayers. He thanks God for each person (in his sight) by name! He's also potty trained during the day and through naps. He's very proud of his "big boy underwur" and announces all potty activity upon completion! Like shouting out in Panera Bread, "I make big doo-doo". Very humbling!

Hello World, Hello Little Girl

Marlee's nursery is ready!

Marlee has a nursery all ready for her arrival! It's been so much fun putting together all the little details to make a sweet room our baby girl. I originally found this nursery online and used it as my inspiration to put together Marlee's room. We did it all on a small budget using thrift stores and craigslist as our main "shopping centers." So here's the breakdown!

My mom and I sewed the bumper and crib skirt with fabric from JoAnn in Kennesaw. It's a heavier fabric - not quite outdoor weight but not thin cotton. I loved the colors and the brightness with the crib. The crib came from craigslist. It's originally from Wal-mart and was a lot better deal than the brand new designer cribs that go for $600+

Her window panel fabric came from Fabric and Fringe. They were around $10 per yard and my mom made them. We also re-covered the glider - it was a craigslist find that was originally denim blue. My Aunt Leesa did a lot of the cutting to re-make the pattern, and my mom did most of the other sewing. I think I sewed a zipper on and that's about it! The little rocker was a gift from friends. It has Marlee Grace embroidered on the back!

This frame was originally intended for photos but after the baby shower I had these prayer/affirmation cards that fit just perfectly in it! These empty frames are a great and inexpensive way to cover empty wall space!

These frame ledges are from Ikea. They don't sell them online so we made a date out of it! The "M" was 0.99 at Hobby Lobby and spray painted silver. I made the sock rabbit with a little help from this blog and tutorial. This rabbit has really long legs - but hey...I tried! The Marlee painting came from a sweet friend in Birmingham and the green picture is just a canvas I covered in fabric with buttons. The walls are Stonington Grey from Benjamin Moore.

This wall is my favorite! So fun and bright! These are all thrift store frames, spray painted white and filled with small pieces of fabrics from JoAnn. The dresser came from a thrift store. It was originally oak-colored and we sanded and painted it along with the knobs. The basket came from Marshall's and I made a liner with pockets out of extra fabric to turn it onto a "diaper caddy." It's filled with diapers, wipes, hair bows, oragel, and other baby essentials!

This little lamp was $5.00 at Goodwill, with a little spray paint and a new shade it added some extra color to the white dresser. The birdie ceramic came from Decorating Mart in Kennesaw - We had a groupon and used it for the bumper liner, extra batting and a cute little birdie!

Now all we lack is our little girl! I am 38 weeks today and oh-so-ready for her to be here! Hoping she will come on or before her due date - but who wouldn't want that!

Walker's 2nd Birthday Bash

LAST month, Walker turned 2! We celebrated very low-key with lots of family. I'm just not ready for the crazy kid parties yet and Walker didn't seem to mind either!

Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere

Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair. That was my theme song for vacation (when Walker wasn't screaming about the sand).

Last week we spent some time in Seagrove, FL with Lolli, (my mom), Goo-Goo (sister) and Andoo (her boyfriend Andrew.) What a WONDERFUL time we had just getting away for a little bit!

Walker hated the sand - that could be an understatement, but there were times where he would forget how much he dreaded it, and he would actually run and play for a little while.

Marlee Sewing Madness

So when I can't sleep, I've been sewing. Making fun little projects for miss Marlee.

The onesies are from Walmart and I just sewed some little crocheted designs on them from Ikea

The rabbit was an inspiration from www.flythroughourwindow.com. Hers is a lot cuter but this was my first try. Let's just say that Marlee's rabbit has super long legs and arms!!

The basket I'll use as a diaper caddy. I sewed a cover with pockets to fit the basket I found at Marshalls.

Once we get a few shelves up in the nursery it'll all be done! So exciting!!

Indian Springs Park

Last Friday I ventured out with Aaron and Walker to Fresh Air BBQ and Indian Springs Park in Jackson, GA.

The BBQ was delicious as is most all food that I eat here lately!

We had high hopes of play in the rushing water at the park but when we got there the water was hardly rushing and it was about 138 degrees outside!! We didn't last long but we tried! Enjoy the pics from our mini-adventure!

A new do for Walker.

I've been charged with the task of family barber. That's a lot of pressure, making sure my 2 boys have decent hair cuts with no formal training in "barber shop". I've been cutting on/at Walkers hair for a while. Recently I noticed that the sides were growing more and more making his head look even wider.

So I attempted a "new do" for the little man. While entertained himself with combs, toothbrushes and deodorant, I cut away. I love the new cut, and I think he does too. 4 of his girlfriends have already approved, so it's working for him:)

Very creative title, I know!

Well. Since I last posted, here's some of the things that we've been up to.

Baby girl, who still remains without a name has a crib that I scored on craigslist! The lady we bought it from works for Carters in Atlanta so she also gave us some new sheets, big boy underwear and a few baby items as well! So we are one step closer to having a nursery...even though there are about 100 steps to go!

I had my hair chopped! 12" in the ponytail then a little more to make it into a style. Mallory joined me and together we were able to donate 27" of hair! Short hair is SO much easier I actually love it!

Aaron and I were given tickets to see Mat Kearney at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. It was so much fun to get away just us and enjoy some live music. I would go to concerts all the time if we could afford it...it's one of my favorite things to do!

Walkers been jabbering non stop. Je repeats everything we say, loves to sing and dance, hit golf balls, softballs and any other sport-type thing that Aaron introduces him to. This is such a fun age and I'm trying to soak up every day of it!

We went down the street today and picked blueberries. It got really hot but it was a really fun thing to do as a family! You can pick a whole gallon of blueberries for only $8!! The place is Gardner Family Farm and they have peaches, berries and other yummy garden veggies too.

I had my regular check-up this week. I'm just over 23 weeks along, my belly and baby are measuring a week ahead (just like Walker did). I've gained almost 10 lbs. Which isn't bad considering I had already gained 14 at this point with Walker. So things are moving right along.

There's more to update like about camp, pool parties and other happenings but that'll have to be another day! Hope your summer is going great!!

Sounds glamorous right? Well, it is. Just take a glance at this handsome bathing babe!! We blew up a small pool filled it up and little Walker had a blast!!

People were driving by waving and I'm sure thinking "look at those rednecks". We broke out the beach chairs and all. It was truly the best part of my day. Just our little family making the best out of what we have.

We have some vegetables in the garden! It might have been the most exciting part of my day to go outside and see these beauties! I spotted some squash, eggplant, cucumbers and tomatoes!

I seriously think this garden is like therapy for me. I spend time watering, pruning and tending to it each day and it's finally paying off!

In just 3 short weeks here's how much our garden has grown and changed. Most all the plants have blooms which is SO exciting!! I need to weed the garden terribly but just haven't yet! Hopefully before too long we will have our first veggies.

Mother's Day Project Completed

We finished our Mother's Day project just in time for all the special ladies to arrive!

I ended up sealing the inside and outside of the pots with clear concrete sealer. It came in a spray can for only $7. Worked great and was easy to coat.

Aaron helped me with the handprints. All went well right until the end but nothing that a little touch-up work couldn't take care of.

Everyone seemed to love their gift. We put Walkers age on the inside rim as a reminder of how old those sweet little hands were!

16 week Ultrasound reveals a girl!

We had an ultrasound today at the doctors office which revealed that we are having a little girl! Here are some pics from today!

I've decided that here, she's praying that these people would please leave her alone!

The heart rate was 148, and she was moving and kicking around all over the place. I still haven't felt the movement but she was all over the place today!

We are thrilled to be having a little girl. Now we can begin the great name debate! We have another U/S at 20 weeks which should confirm that its a girl!

Easter Weekend 2011 and Pictures Galore!

Our whirlwind Easter weekend began on Saturday when Aaron's mom and aunt came down to visit for the day. We headed over to a local school for an egg drop. They were dropping 15,000 eggs from a helicopter over the practice field.

Easter morning began with services at church and incredible worship. After church we headed up to my moms to spend the day. We grilled out, relaxed, went fishing and spend some good time with family and friends.

After our lunch settled we boarded the "USS George Bush" and trolled around the lake. Aaron caught 2 small bass and gave Walker his first fishing lessons.

Aaron and Justin. Justin and his wife Shauna spent the day with us. Their family lives states and states away. It was so much fun getting to share Easter with this sweet couple.

I couldn't have asked for a better Easter weekend, spent with family and friends, celebrating our risen Savior! Hope you were able to celebrate as well!

A Gardening We Go!!

On Friday we worked for most of the day building and planting our garden! Walker and I headed to walmart to buy up all of their busted bags of topsoil, dirt and potting mix. I'd say we did pretty well! We got about 20 bags or goodies for $20!

We also picked up some veggies to plant because I gave up on the whole seed-growing-venture. Too much work for too little results.
Aaron tilled and tilled and tilled to soften up the ground, built the "walls" then we planted. This year we hope to have tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, eggplant, zucchini, squash, strawberries, onion and several different herbs!

Gardening brings back so many memories of my papa. I remember many times watching him and helping him plant and harvest his garden. Hopefully it will be a chance to teach Walker too! As much as he likes being outside we should have fun with it this spring and summer!

Mother's Day gift idea - HAND painted pots

I spy a Mother's Day gift project! With May 8th just around the corner I was looking for something fun and affordable for Walker to give the 8 "moms" in his life for Mother's Day!

Here's our plan. Hobby Lobby sells these clay pots at 1/2 price for $1.08 each. So we bought 8, along with some tempera paint and 2 paint pens. My plan is to put his hand prints on each pot, paint a sweet message from Walker and plant a flower in each.

I'm sure you could go all out decorating with ribbon, paints, fabrics and more but we are keeping it simple!

So for under $40 I plan to have a sentimental, "hand-made" gift for each "mom" in our family.

A beautiful night

Last night after dinner we headed over to our friends Justin and Shauna's neighborhood to hang out for a bit. We had SO much fun!! We went to an area that's attached to a huge reservoir, has swings, picnic tables, a pavilion and lots of grass for Walker to run and play in.

Walker entertained himself with this huge prehistoric bug for a while. He kept asking the bug to "o-juice" which translated to hold you. He also jumped off the terraces into Aaron's arms about 100 times which was fun to watch.

We got to watch the sunset over the water which made me feel like I was on vacation somewhere far away! If I lived in their neighborhood I might never leave that park!

So thankful for new friends to share nights like this with!!

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to have some family pictures made with Tate Cathcart of Taken by Tate.

I met Tate through our local MOPS group and quickly learned of her talent and love for photography. She took us out to Indian Springs Park in Jackson, GA and to an abandoned warehouse that was also nearby. We had so much fun, she worked so well with Walker and I LOVED all the pics that she took! We haven't had family pics made since Walker was 8 weeks old, and the timing worked out because I'm not ginormously pregnant yet.

If you're looking for a photographer in the Henry County area I would HIGHLY recommend Tate! She has a great facebook page and website where you can browse through her work and contact her about working with your family! Here are a few of my favorites (the quality is reduced so that I could upload all of them in less than a week! We have SUPER slow internet!!!)

14 weeks and counting!

We have officially crossed over and are in the 2nd week of the 2nd trimester! I went to the doc today and heart the baby's heartbeat. It was between 148 and 152. Any guesses? You do have a 50/50 chance of being right! Other than that, all is well. My blood pressure was 100/60, I asked her if my heart was even beating!! I go back in 4 weeks for a regular visit the. 2 weeks after that we will find out the gender! I can hardly stand it!!

Walker has been an absolute blast lately. Talking a lot more, asking the blessing and trying to repeat everything we say to him. He's a huge flirt, loves everything outdoors and has really kept me laughing this week!

Some of my favorite walker-isms are his sweet look, the way he says "bye-biiiii" and his favorite restaurant, "Vee-Va-Vay" - otherwise known as Chick-fil-A!! He can spot them all over the place!

I have lots to post but I'll take it one adventure at a time!

I got the chance to go horseback riding with my mom at Cheatham Hill this morning and it was SO much fun. I rode Rosie. She's an Appaloosa Quarter Horse and is as sweet as she can be! We did a lot of walking, a little trotting and a little running.

It was a great time of peace, quiet and fun. So my little baby in-utero has been on a horse already! What an adventurer!!

Tomorrow my mom and I are doing hair for a wedding! I'm so excited:). It should be a fun day!

Before we were sickies, we spent the weekend at my moms working outside. Full-on work that involved tractors, chainsaws, a wood chipper, 4-wheelers and work gloves. Walker was happily entertained being outside riding around, playing bubbles and getting dirty.

Sunday night Walker had a mild fever and by Monday morning he had a terrible cough. Come to find out he had croup. First time, and I'll admit. That's a scary cough!

Tuesday I started feeling bad and by nighttime I was aching all over. I went to the doc and they are treating me for strep...who knows. I've been on the couch ALL day and the aches are finally subsiding. I tell ya. Being sick sure does make me thankful for being healthy.

Hoping that tomorrow is a better day. My mom is taking Walker and we r getting ready for our first Disciple Now at MCC. So excited for the students to experience this refreshing weekend!!

Coming this October to the Zakeri Family...

Joining us this October is another little Zakeri. Lots of pregnancy tests, several vials of blood and an ultrasound with a strong heartbeat have confirmed that we are expecting again. Officially I am due October 11, 2011 and couldn't be more excited.

It's like the longest I've ever had to keep a secret because I had a very early miscarriage in December and had told the world that I was pregnant which made it a little more difficult.

So Monday I reach the 10 week mark, I've really felt great from the beginning. Just dealing with a little tiredness and extra hunger! We greatly appreciate your prayers along this journey to another little Zakeri!!

Walker is excited too (actually he has no clue) but he does like his new big brother shirt!! (ultrasound pic is at 7 weeks)

But after looking through some online articles what was said of Brittany was that people knew she loved Jesus. I didn't find anything about the car she drove, the house she lived in or the money she had. All that was said of her was that she loved Jesus, she loved her job and family. What a testimony. I can't imagine the heartache that this family is experiencing but I've certainly been challenged by the life that she lived.

Delicious Cucumber Snack

This little cucumber snack I learned from Aarons mom so I can't actually take credit but it's too good not to share! All you'll need is ritz crackers, a cucumber, cream cheese and lemon pepper.

1. Lay out your crackers
2. Spread a layer of cream cheese
3. Add thinly (not too thin) sliced cucumbers
4. Sprinkle with lemon pepper
5. If you're like me you'll need to make some extra because you ate too many off the plate before your guests arrived!!!

Camera strap cover and a happy boy...

Today was a good day on the homefront. I filled an order for this camera strap cover. It's going all the way to San Antonio, TX. Very fun for the spring and summer.

Walker was in a surprisingly good mood today. I think he is finally finished cutting his k-9's (those pointy teeth). That must have been such a pain. He was all smiles for the camera as you can see:).

He posed as Rambo with a silly headband made from some scrap fusible fleece the happily showed off his new sunglasses. He wore them the whole time in the car. I think he likes not having the sun in his eyes.

We finished our Technical Virgin bible study with the high school girls which seemed to turn out well!

So...my lovely sister is out of school this week so I bribed her with gas money to come down for a visit! Just kidding!! I bribed her with Walker AND gas money!
It's been so much fun having her here. We've eaten, run errands, eaten some more, napped a little, and then ate again:)
She's a guitar maestro, a friend to all and also a total texting queen but hey who isn't these days! She absolutely LOVES Walker and he loves her too. He calls her Goo-Goo. That's close enough to Rachel, right?
I'm so proud of Rach. We've come a long way. I never imagined we'd be this close but I have always hoped for it! We are 10 years apart in age but it seems the older we get the less that gap matters:). She's heading to college this Fall - gasp!!!

A week in review

I'm not too sure where this week went. Walker and I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the weather, i spent some time under the weather and at the doctors office.
After being in terrible pain with my nose, gums and face for 3 days and nights I went to the doctor. The first doctor said he had no idea what was wrong. The next day I went to the dermatologist and they said I had an abscess on my nose. Holy Cow. An abscess. They have no idea how I got it, but gave me some medicine that worked like magic! Don't go googling abscess because you will throw-up! It wasn't that bad:). I did sleep sitting up on the couch a few nights because it helped with the pain!!
Friday night we had a lock-in for the middle schoolers. I only stayed until about 1:30am then called it quits. Aaron stayed up ALL night and returned home to sleep most of Saturday!
Finally last night I had my first full night sleep in about 6 nights.
Most of the pictured are totally unrelated but they are my faves from this week!

Valentine's Day at the Zakeris

Valentines day at the Zakeris was SO romantic!! Let me tell you about it:)
Walker and I spent the day playing inside and outside, sewing, reading and taking a short trip to the doctor for Walkers well visit. All is well with him. He's 45% in weight and 90% in height...like his daddy...tall and thin:)
Aaron came home with some beautiful flowers and we all headed to Chick-fil-A. Because nothing says romance like BOGO combo meals with 1,000 people from Henry county!!
We came home, I had bible study with my girls, made the biggest cookies ever and caught an hour of the disgusting Bachelor:(
More than anything today makes me more thankful for my loves! No lavish gifts or white tablecloths needed to make this girl know she's loved!!

New Fabric Flowers

After scouring the world wide web I read a few tutorials on these lovely fabric flowers and started making them to add to the camera strap covers. They have been very popular so far. Some have added them to a plain strap and others added them to a ruffled strap. I love the shabby look of the fabric flower I think it adds a lot of character:). And we all know those cameras could use some character!!

I just wanted to say thanks for all the support and encouragement in these sewing endeavors!
Sewing is something that I truly enjoy. I can start sewing (after Walker is asleep) and a couple hours can pass before I even know it! Not only do I enjoy sewing but it also is a way I can contribute financially to our family. Things can be tight at times and I'm always looking for outlets of creativity to make some extra money! Sewing had been one of those great outlets!
I try my best to make each piece unique and with the best quality possible and am always looking for ways to improve!!
So far y'all have been so supportive by encouraging me, giving me ideas and buying some of the items as gifts for yourself or others:)

Super Bowl Partay

My little buddy

My little buddy Walker has been changing so much lately! Just in the past week he's really starting to say a lot more, repeat what I say and make-up his own words. I have to say I was a little worried because all his "girlfriends" are talking circles around him. But I think he's finding his little chatter box!

Walker has a little temper. Might or might not have inherited that from me...but despite a couple fits here and there he's very loving and social. He waves out the car window, through the grocery store and when he sees new people. He gives bear hugs, kisses, blows kisses and likes to cuddle.

He'll be 18 months old this month and I can hardly believe it! We are in the middle of transitioning to 1 nap, but most days he still takes 2 naps and sleeps 12 hours at night

Walker is ALL boy! Anything that has to do with a ball, dinosaur, outdoors, the "beep beep", 4-wheeler, he just loves. He's also quite the karaoke star as well. He makes up his own words, sounds and dances which is hilarious:)

He's challenging and some days I think I'm going to pull my hair out, but he's got a lot of spirit and I love that little boy to death!

I was tired of my black camera strap. Boring, plain, and like everyone else!! So I made a few of these to sprite up my camera. Surprisingly enough it makes my camera a lot easier to find. I have made several for other people also.

They make a great gift for yourself or for someone that's hard to buy for too!! I'm selling them for $25 each with a ruffle and for $20 each just plain. I'd love to make one for you or someone you know!

Well. The bug continues. I whipped up a few aprons from this funky flower fabric. They are full length and have a small ruffled pocket in the middle. The neck is adjustable and the tie is plenty long for any size chef:).

It's almost too cute to cook in. But it will sure beat getting your clothes stained!

I have a few for sale. $25 each of you're interested. They are very well made, pre-washed and ready to go!

Now I'm worn out...and so is my little helper!

The craft bug...

Apparently it bit me. I've been on a roll the past few days.

It started with making a sewing pad out of some scrap fabric

Then making a few nursing covers from some too cute fabric (for sale $30 ea.)

Then I turned an empty 20x50 frame into a wire collage. I've had this frame for at least 3 years because I got it at Hobby Lobby for $8 and had no idea what to do with it. So with some wire, hot glue and the tiniest clothes pins I've ever seen...I now have. Cute little photo collage in Walkers play area.

Who knows what tomorrow holds:)

So I took the initiative to turn the kitchen table into a sewing table, used the chairs as shelves and boxes as organizers.

On a deeper end, don't we do this with a lot of things? I do.
I can't work out because a gym membership costs too much. So I borrowed a treadmill
I can't read the bible regularly because I don't know where to start. So I use the YouVersion app and reading plan.
There aren't many outlets for moms at my church. So I've been getting plugged in at the library and through other groups.
I'm learning that I need to take more initiative, use what's been given to me, make more of an effort to reach out to others and bring Glory to Him through every situation - perfect or not!!

TUG 2011 - Pigeon Forge

last weekend we spent the weekend with some of our high school students at the TUG retreat in Pigeon Forge, TN. I learned SO much and the conference wasn't even "for me" we joined 9,000 students for teaching, worship and retreat. The retreat was divided up so most of the sessions were with about 2,000 students. Worship was led by Kari Jobe, we heard Dave Edwards, Ergun Caner, Scott Dawson and my personal favorite, David Nasser. We learned about the TUG of Christ and the TUG of the world - which one will we answer.

It was an incredible time to get to know the youth leaders better, and the students. They are a diverse, talented and amazing bunch! I saw hearts changed, lives surrendered and decisions made. I was humbled in worship and challenged in teaching. I'm so thankful to experience retreats like this.

on Sunday I took a spill while ice skating - possibly the most intense pain I've ever experienced. Landed right on my knee cap - no breaks or fractures - just some fluid and bruising! THANK YOU LORD!!

Today after lunching with my mom and Lanie Beth (see her lovely little girl!). We scooted over to Hobby Lobby where I scored the deal of the day! They currently have all Christmas decor 90% off. Sooooo...I got these 2 pre-lit alpine Christmas trees which retail for $129 each for only $13 each. I was basically having heart palpitations in the store!!
Back in November during cake class Dana and I had drooled over these trees because I couldn't fathom paying so much for them but I really liked them!
We got a few other Christmas goodies at 90% off like 2 huge wreaths, some door hangings and berry garland. If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby you should check and see if they have any Christmas treasures left! Be careful though, you might have to fight your way to a good find!!

2 little Christmas ideas

Here are 2 last minute Christmas ideas for you. I wasn't sure how to display our Christmas cards this year so I cut a few strips of burlap and tacked them to the wall then pinned each card to the strip. I love how it turned out. It's completely full now. I've been pointing out all our friends to Walker and he gets a kick out of it. I LOVE Christmas cards!
Another idea was originally Lanie Beths. I took the Christmas picture of Walker and turned it into little gift tags. I think they are super cute and it took about 1 minute to make! I just used plain paper and taped them to our gifts. Very easy!!

Nursing Covers for Sale!

I have made a few nursing covers and have them for sale if you're interested for yourself or as a gift to a friend. These are AWESOME to have if you're nursing a baby. They are lightweight, and are made with boning around the neck so you can easily see your baby while nursing and still have your privacy. The apron neck is adjustable for max convenience and coverage. I am selling these for $30 each and have 2 pink and one brown. If you're interested just let me know and we will work out the details!

This Christmas I'm continuing in tradition of making a few of our gifts. Last year it was a lot of fun and made me appreciate the whole gift-giving process even more.

Baking Day!

Today was baking day at my aunts house. Each year before her Christmas party my mom, grandmother and 2 aunts bake all the desserts that are served at the party.
Every year up until now I have worked outside home so I missed baking day. But not this time! Me and "the boss" headed up to Roswell and let the fun begin!
We baked vanilla wafer cake, red velvet cake, strawberry cake, toffee, all kinds of cookies, butterscotch bits, fudge and cranberry bliss bars. Let me tell you they are ALL delicious!!
It was such a fun day. It's not that often that I get to spend the day with the gals. Walker was an angel all day and a great help I'm sampling all the treats too! Now if I can just fin something to wear Saturday...it's the one time I dress up all year!

I am not pregnant anymore. According to the doc I had an early miscarriage.
It's a bummer especially because I get excited over things VERY quickly!

However I AM thankful for this little man today! He's been a little sick and is finally making a comeback!!

On Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving was really great. All THREE meals! We spent a day in Monticello, a day in Locust Grove and a day in Dacula. It was a sweet time with family, beautiful weather and great food. I posted pictures on facebook to document the fun times!!
I was shocked at how beautiful it was on Thursday. I was totally expecting rain and cold! I'll take a beautiful thanksgiving anytime!

Hope yours was great too! I sure do wish that I was this thankful ALL year!!!

Choosing Christmas Cards...

Anyone else look forward to making and picking out Christmas Cards?

I love to look back at mine and Aaron's from the past few years - the first year was a whirlwind so we didn't send our cards. Year 2 we send a pic with our first dog Nala, the next year was a crazy picture of us at my Aunt's Christmas party which was the best one yet! The third year was a picture of Aaron and I paired with an ultrasound pic of Walker, 4th year was a picture of Walker surrounded by Christmas lights and this year...we are still working on!!

Last year we made out own which turned out really fun but this year Shutterfly has a great deal on some awesome Christmas cards for any family! They have so many designs to choose from - a lot more creative than I could be!

Wow - what a fast 5 years it's been! We were married in 2005, you started seminary and we moved into our very first apartment! Oh the simplicity of life then:)

in 2006 we moved into a small cabin on a family lake and acquired our first dog Nala!

in 2007 we moved to Birmingham where you took a job in recreation ministry with Hunter Street. What an adventure. We cried our first night there but what a blessing that season was!

in 2008 we found out we were expecting our first little babe - we also lost Papa which was very devastating.

in 2009 Walker born! What a joy!

in 2010 you graduated from NOBTS, got a job in McDonough, GA and here we are, embarking on a new adventure!

I'm so thankful to be married to the man of my prayers, the man that God sent to me in college when I was convinced that there wasn't a guy out there! Thank you for being faithful to me always and uplifting me in every way imaginable.

It's an honor to be married to such an amazing man!

You MUST make this!! Crack Corn

Caramel "Crack Corn" Snack Mix

8 cups popped popcorn
4 cups rice chex cereal
2 cups mini pretzels
1 cup pecan halves
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine first 4 ingredients in foil roasting pan. (east to clean because you can just throw away!!)

Combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup in saucepan. Cook and stir until boiling over entire surface. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat, then quickly stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour over popcorn mixture and coat well.

Bake 10 minutes and stir.

Bake another 5-10 minutes. Cool completely on parchment paper. Enjoy and share!! It's called crack corn for a reason. You just can't stop eating it!!

Modification. I made a double batch and added some extra pecans just because they are soooo delicious in the recipe.

Last weekend Aaron, Walker and I headed over to Birmingham to pick up a few items we left behind and to see our long lost pals!!
We had a date at Edgars with Peyton, Mary Glynn and Becky. It was so delicious!
Becky and I did a little shopping-well-all we bought were 44oz cherry limeades and a shirt for Aaron but it was a great time.
I also got to eat my favorite meal at Zoes!! Hummus Salad Plate! We tried Flip Burger for the first time and finished of the evening with none other than Yogurt Mountain!! It was an awesome trip! Thankful to see my dear neighbors and friends that we miss so much!

#cat10 - Catalyst Conference 2010

Thursday and Friday I got to experience the catalyst conference with Aaron and some friends from church. It was really a great time to hear from different speakers from all different walks of life and backgrounds. I loved hearing Beth Moore, Francis Chan and Perry Noble. Though each speaker said something that resonated with me I will tell you that what they said is not the greatest thing that I took away.
The pivotal moment in the conference for me was during worship - a moment when 12,000+ people were singing "He loves us, oh how He loves us so..." in that moment we were all singing in one voice to one Savior that gave His life for us. He loves us though we are filthy and undeserving of his love and grace.
He loves us unconditionally when our love for him is conditional, he truly does love us and calls me and you to that same love for Him and others.
I was encouraged by the godly men and women at Catalyst but more than that I was overwhelmed by the presence of a loving Savior.

Sweet Weather

Have you been enjoying this cooler weather as much as we have? It's so nice to play outside without all the bugs and blazing sun! We spent some time at my moms this weekend as she recovered from some surgery.

It's always nice to be at her place because it's all open space! Walker and Aaron went on several walks, shot some hoops, rode in the wagon and played in the yard. Walker even learned that a pink girls basketball can double as a soccer ball! Love my family and am so thankful for the time I can spend with them!

All about Cake Class

So last night was the last night of the first Wilton Cake Course. Honestly, cakes aren't my thing. I don't even like birthday cake. I prefer brownies and ice cream!! BUT this class was so much fun! It was a great time to spend with Dana, good to be out of the house, and fun to learn a new skill

We learned about making icing, coloring icing, decorating with different tips and designing cakes and cupcakes Now Dana is like a pro! She even has the much coveted Wilton Ultimate Cake Kit!!

The class was held at Hobby Lobby in McDonough, GA. We met every Thursday night in September from 5:30-7:30. Classes are 1/2 off for the rest of 2010 and you can use 40% coupons to buy any supplies you need!

So here's to Cake Class! If there's one in your area you should check it out!

Fall Harvest Baked Apples

Here's an easy recipe for Fall Harvest Baked Apples. Thanks to my digital cookbook - AllRecipes!

It'll make your house smell good AND you can eat it! That's more than I can say for any candle or broom:)

I actually used Granny Smith Apples, cooked mine for about 40 minutes and omitted the Walnuts just because Walker can't chew those yet. Also - make sure that when you're mixing your recipe that you don't dump dill seasoning into the mix instead of ginger - not that I would ever do that - but YOU might:)

Now hopefully I won't eat them all before he wakes from his nap!

Ingredients

8 red apples, cored (i used Granny Smith)
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 lemon, juiced (i used bottled lemon juice)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place apples in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, lemon juice and vanilla. Bring to a boil, and drizzle equally over apples.
Cover with foil, and bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove cover, and continue to bake for 10 minutes, or until apples are tender. Serve warm.

All About LASIK

Last Friday was the big day for my LASIK! A lot of friends have been asking how it went - who did the surgery...and all that. So I thought I would share here!

1. Who performed your LASIK?

- Dr. Ashraf wih the Atlanta Vision Institute.

2. How did you pick your doctor?

- Well - oddly enough I bought the procedure on Atlanta Groupon at half-price! Normally you wouldn't think to buy a surgery at a discount - but I saw the offer - did my research and decided it was great timing, a great deal and a great doctor!

3. What did the surgery feel like?

- It just felt like pressure on my eye - I was a little nervous but Dr. Ashraf talked me through the entire procedure and it was over in MINUTES!

4. Did you have any side-effects ot pain?

- So far I haven't had any negative side effects! My eyes are healing well and i am keeping drop in them as directed. They are occasionally a bit dry - but hey - I just had surgery 4 days ago!

5. Was the surgery a success?

- YES! I have been in glasses since the 3rd grade! and contacts since the 8th. I was a -5.5 in both eyes which means i couldn't even see the BIG E. The morning after surgery I was 20/30 and 20/40 which will sharpen and improve to 20/20 over the next few weeks.

I feel like I have been given the gift of vision now! I can see at night, see the alarm clock, and my eyes actually look healthier since I haven't been wearing contacts for the past 2 weeks. If ever given the opportunity I would say GO FOR IT!

Mom Share - Entertaining Baby

Hello there - I'm looking for some advice, ideas and tips. How do you entertain your kids (aroung 1 yr)? I know there are things I could be doing with Walker that I just don't think about. I always want to spend time with him doing things that are fun - but that are also helping him grown and develop. Any ideas, anything that your baby loves to do, any cool toys that you have, games, activities? Can you share with a comment? Maybe other moms will benefit too!!

Walker would GREATLY appreciate it!

Best Advice I was given...

Some of the best advice I have been given as a mom was from a lady from England that bought our Nissan Altima while I was pregnant with Walker. She said that when her babies were able to sit-up she sat them on the potty each day just so they could become familiar with the potty. Her babes were potty trained by 18 months and earlier! So...I took her advice and when Walker was 7 months old I began putting him on the potty each night before bath time. Sometimes he would accidentally pee in the potty - but more than anything - it just made him familiar with the potty. So fast forward 5 month to my little one year old and here he is...

No I am not claiming that he's potty training - but I am claiming that I have only changed one poopy diaper in the last few days and that he only has a few wet diapers a day. Each time that I set Walker on the potty throughout the day he either pees or pees and poops. It's amazing AND hilarious! He seems so proud of himself too. So hopefully you can benefit form this by giving it a try - these little babes are so smart if we just teach and show then what they are capable of!

Walkers First Birthday

Walker turned ONE this Saturday and we celebrated with some close family and friends! He really was a lot of fun - digging onto his smash cake, shredding tissue paper and showing-off his newly found walking skills! We are so blessed to have a heatlhy growing baby boy, a wonderful family that encourages us and sweet friends that are willing to drive all the way from Alabama to celebrate this day with us! We love you guys!

I blog to remember.
To remember that at 10am 6 ladies of my family and Walker loaded up in the Excursion and headed to Seagrove Beach.
It's currently 8pm EST and we are sitting in a minivan-taxi awaiting the wrecker to pick up the excursion which seemingly has a broken alternator. We haven't had dinner. Haven't seen the beach and I'm not sure that any of us even showered this morning. As I write this Walker is playing a tambourine that the taxi driver gave him...naturally all taxi drivers keep a tambourine on-hand...right?
So who knows what the future holds for our beach trip...I just LAUGH to keep from going crazy!!

And Corn, tomato, garlic, sausage, onion and bell pepper - then you're sure to love this recipe!

This is a delicious recipe that I found in the Southern Living July 2010 Magazine

The part that took the longest was shucking and cleaning the corn. I also substituted and used butterball turkey sausage - it's still got a lot of flavor without all the fat.

So here goes:

1 Butterball Turkey sausage diced (package comes with 2)

1/4 cup chopped sweet onion (i used vidalia)

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

2 garlic cloves minced (i used jar minced)

3 cups fresh corn kernels (6 ears of corn will yield 3 cups of corn)

1 cup fresh sliced okra

1 cup peeled, seeded and diced tomato

salt and pepper to taste

here's how i divided out the fresh ingredients:

1 saute sausage on medium-high or until slightly browned

2 add onion, bell pepper and garlic - saute 5 minutes or until tender

3 add okra, corn and tomato - continue to cook and stir often (for about 10 minutes)

4 season with salt and pepper and serve

i loved it served warm (ate it right outta the pan) - you can also serve it as a cold side if you like!

if available, be sure that you have extra help in the kitchen - it makes cooking most joyful!

hi - it's me - Michele - I used to blog here at this blog...now I just stalk my favorite blogs from my phone and delay posting what's going around here!

we don't have internet at the house yet - so I'm using that excuse as to why I haven't been blogging! We are settling in nicely in GA. We really love the church and Aaron is loving his job there. He actually gets to teach both church services this Sunday which is very exciting! We have already made new friends and connected with friends that we have missed the last few years. It's nice to be closer to family - they actually visit us more now!

We got an opportunity to go to SC for a few days with Aaron's dad. I have some great pics on my camera (that's dead at the house) but this one I thought was pretty cute

this little dude will be ONE next month - he's still such a baby to me - and I am almost in denial that his birthday is just around the corner. He's still nursing, napping 2 times a day and sleeping from about 8-8. he's talking a lot looks like he'll be walking soon - but I'm NOT pushing it!! He's got 6 teeth. The top 4 are so spaced out it's hilarious...I might need to go ahead and start a braces fund! He's a handful - he'll show you his nose, toes, lips and teeth. he's talking a little and pointing a lot. He eats everything - and eats all the time! Wonder where he gets that from??

My mom is starting a new business which is very exciting. I'm helping her (along with her sisters/my aunts) to get it off the ground. I'll have more details later - I think it's really cool - and hopefully every woman in the world will too:)

Exhibit A and B

Ok. Exhibit A is the bracket that holds my college-ish ironing board
to the back of the door. There are 2 of these brackets...one I haven't
been able to find since the move. This brings us to exhibit B. Aaron
decided to secure a shelf to the garage wall with a strange bracket
that he going and hammered out flat. After making this discovery. I
laughed so hard I might have cried:). Guess it's time for a big girl
ironing board!

Hello - wow - so I guess this is my monthly blog post:) A LOT has been happening around here!

1. Aaron graduated seminary!!2. We got a job offer at McDonough Christian Church in McDonough, GA.3. We were offered a place to rent close to the new church
4. We were contacted by a couple that wants to rent our house this month (for a whole year) - the same house that's been for sale for 5 months and hasn't shown once...
5. I turned in my 2-week notice at work
6. We are moving on June 12th!!
WHEW!!

This has been a LONG season but God has been more than faithful to sustain us. There were times where I didn't think I could make it another day and I was really tired of hearing - it'll all work out in the end - you will look back and see His perfect plan...well - all that is right and I am so thankful to be where we are today!
There is much to do in the next 2 weeks - I can't believe it's all happening so fast, but it's all working out just perfectly - it's kinda how He works:)

We've been hanging in there! In just 2 WEEKS Aaron will be graduating
from seminary!! If we can survive the next 2 weeks I'm certain we can
survive anything!! As you can see we are using any form of
entertainment possible to keep our sanity!! Hope you and yours are

Thanks for all the emails, comments and calls. I really appreciate the
encouragement and it's always good to keep things in perspective!
It's Thursday and we've made it through another week!! Walker turned
8 months this week and in exactly 1 month Aaron will graduate from New
Orleans Baptist!!!
I have walked twice this week half the laundry is put up and my
husband and son know how much I LOVE them. There's dusty furniture
unmade beds and dirty laundry but I am reminded each day that we still
have MUCH to be thankful for!

Get it together

Ok so I am having a real hard time getting it together
I mean honestly. I am in a rut, a ditch a big hole...whatever.
I don't do any of the following consistently:
Exercise
Read the bible
Pray
Coupon
Clean the house
Grocery shop
Go to bed at a certain time
Maintain friendships well
Laundry

Don't get me wrong I don't need am intervention or I don't need to be
on an episode of hoarders!

It's just like I can't keep-up. Working all week, coming home and
switching into mommy mode on top of still nursing is a lot. I've got
an awesome husband that supports me in so many ways and is keeping
Walker, finishing seminary and trying to keep me sane.

I totally understand that stay at home mom has a FULL time job but do
any of y'all work outside the home and have kid(s)? Do you have a
system? A schedule? Have it somewhat together? Just looking for some
insight here. I feel like I'm so far behind I don't even know where to
begin to catch-up and "get it together".

Thank the Lord for Fridays...when I get to start the weekend with my
boys!

What's been goin' on...

Wow - I thought I would do better at this blogging things but I just never seem to have the time. And then when I get free time - I don't want to blog:) So to start it out - here's Walker at his first car show. Let me tell you. The cars were awesome - but the people that attended the show were even more of a site!

It's been a fun month here at the Zakeri Household. We put our house up for sale - just to see. There was one house in the WHOLE neighborhood like ours for sale. So we thought we were at a great advantage. Now...3 weeks later - there are 5 houses just like ours for sale! One's a foreclosure so that's kinda a bummer! We really want our home to sell - but it looks like it'll be a miracle. If it did sell we would probably go back to renting for a while to save some dollars and live a little closer to work - so we're praying...we'll see!

Walker is more and more fun all the time! He's really a happy little boy! Naps well, nurses well, is back to sleeping through the night and loves all the solid foods we have let him try. I've been making his food to save money which is really easy. He's been eating bananas, cereal, sweet potatoes, squash, avocado, green beans, pears, apples and tonight we're trying carrots! He really enjoys being out and about - he will let anyone hold him, play with him or watch him. I know it might not last forever but it's great that he's like that now! He's sitting up and really interacting a whole lot more! We are cherishing these days one by one because they are such fun times!

Aaron graduates from seminary in May! This is a tough semester - but I know he can do it! Greek is killer but he says he can pull through! So come May 15th - I will know Aaron not as a student. I'm not sure what life's gonna be like!

We started participating in Grow Alabama last month - it's all fresh local produce from area farmers. WOW - we feel like we are getting to experience all new foods because the veggies are so fresh and delicious! I'm not sure if your area has a local co-op but if so you should def. give it a try!

I'm SO looking forward to Spring - longer days, more outside time and a little but warmer weather! Aren't you???

Pictures are Before, During, During and After...
Stephanie is a great organizer! She's starting her own business
called Orderly Manners. She said it still needs a little work but
it's a good start. We got rid of all hangers that weren't plastic,
sorted tank tops, short sleeve and long sleeve then ordered them from
light to dark. We did the same with pants. It works and is
maintainable. I'm so thankful for her time and talents...so here's to
4 bins, 2 boxes and 3 trash bags later!!

Happy 5 months to my little boy!

I love your sweet laugh your raspy little voice and your giant grin! What a little joy you are to us! You've been eating cereal more regularly, you love standing with some assistance and you still love a bath! You're a lot easier to take places now that you're a little older.
Now if you would just start sleeping through the night again:) I still do miss you terribly each day while i'm at work but I know you're in good hands!

Frozen Diapers

So...
We plan to go to Asheville with my mom and family
She said the place we are staying has a washer and dryer
Ok. So I pack all our cloth diapers.
Walker has a major giant huge stinky poop on the way up here
I wrap up the diaper along with 3 other wet ones.
We get to the place and there is no washer or dryer.
So I hand wash the diapers...and lay them on the back porch to dry
Not only are they not dry...they are now completly FROZEN! They were
frozen solid, standing up on their own...oh well. Glad we brought some
paper diapers for back-up!!

Daddy Diaries

So this is the call I get from Aaron this morning:

“Your son is being SO mischievous this morning”

-really? What has he done?

“Well, he’s been up for 2.5 hours , wrestled with me while I was trying to feed him, spit up a time or two – requiring a wardrobe change, then – while he was on the changing table, he peed all over the table, himself and the wall – so I took his naked little butt to give him a bath – thinking certainly he wouldn’t pee anymore. Sure enough – he peed all over my shirt, all down my pants and it soaked through to my underwear. THEN I put him in the bath tub and whatta ya know – he pooped. I took him out, changed the water, put him back in – and then…he pooped AGAIN...now he’s smiling at me like nothing happened – he’s just as happy as can be. I think we should have named him rascal instead”

-my response – hysterical laughter!!

I don't believe one word of it!!Oh to be a fly on the wall during days like this! Hope your day was just as “fun”
